TuMi Care Initiative is a National Non-Governmental Organization with a goal of supporting the Government of Liberia in improving access for the achievement of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). We partner with stakeholdersfrom the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors to identify their highest-value opportunities, address their most critical challenges, and transform lives through Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Services, gender equality, education, drugs and substance abuse awareness and rehabilitation services for victims and improve the population adaptability to climate change.
Targeted Beneficiaries which include women, children and adolescents, at risk youths, vulnerable, underserved and marginalized population including people with physical and mental disability. They will be reached through locally driven community and systems interventions for empowerment opportunities, gender-based violence and advocacies, adolescence and youth health programs, Capacity Building, innovations and health support services. TuMi is aimed at using cost effective, community led sustainable interventions to improve the health and wellbeing of all persons.
By working collaboratively with national government and its partners, our interventions are tailored to prioritize health, education, gender and environmental protection to support government’s efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Mission of the TuMi initiative is to empower individuals for self and collectively advocacy for inclusivity while fostering a community where every person has equal access to and can utilize essential services with compassion and dignity.

The goal is to contribute to national agendas through advocacy and direct interventions to support equitable access and utilization of essential health and social services for all especially the most vulnerable including the underserved, marginalized population and those living with disabilities.
Current geographic scope of implementation is in selected communities in Montserrado, Margibi, Nimba and Rivergee counties.Based on identified needs and funding opportunities, TuMi Care Initiative will expand to other parts of Liberia.
On September 25th, 2024, TuMi Care Initiative in collaboration with Ministry of Health and other partners and stakeholders celebrate World Contraceptive Day under the team “Stop the Myths, keep our Girls In School, Use Family Planning”. For the first time, the speech Impaired participated in the celebration. They participated in the Meet the Challenge and won prices as well as gave a remarked at the program. In the remark a representative of the speech Impaired requested the Ministry of Health and its partners to kindly include them in other events as they are often left out. As a key output, several speech impaired individuals received family planning services.
